Cynthia Melde is a native Arizonan with over 12 years of experience working in community health. As the Regional Director for the First Things First Southeast Maricopa Partnership Council, Cynthia is focused on strengthening and supporting families to ensure all children arrive to school healthy and ready to learn. Previously, Cynthia worked at the Arizona Department of Health Services where she oversaw programs and implemented policies to make the healthy choice the easy choice for Arizona’s families.
Cynthia is well known for fostering strong relationships with partners and co-founded the Health in Policy and Practice that focused on using data driven tools to create healthy, thriving communities. Cynthia is passionate and energetic about children’s health and actively seeks opportunities to positively impact our future generation. She earned her Masters Degree in Nutrition from Arizona State University and her Bachelors from Scripps College. Cynthia and her husband Shea live in Mesa with their 2 children, Reid and Lucy, and dog, Hudson.
